DANCIN' TO THE OLDIES: Traditional Cambodian Dance Theatre

The Cambodian culture is a sweet, mostly gentle, agrarian lot that revolves around family, love and subsistence farming of rice. This is naturally reflected in their music and dance.

One of the more wonderful examples of traditional dance - with a bit of contemporary spice - can be found in the efforts of an excellent non-profit organization, Cambodian Living Arts. These folks keep tradition alive. Their efforts and work is beautiful and worthy of meaningful donation.

The pictures below were taken during a recent, 'dress rehearsal', in preparation for the worlds largest music festival in Europe. Significantly, no performer in this troop of 30+ folks has been in an airplane before, let alone outside their country. It's a beautiful thing. Europe is in for a real treat. So are these performers and support staff. The experiences these people bring back will serve their future livelihood, Spirit, craft and everybody else they come in contact for the rest of their lives. That's powerful.

Cambodian Living Arts runs a tight ship and produces measurable results. It is so important for every culture to celebrate it's roots and context.

This non-profit performs. Contributions here create meaningful, measurable results and enjoys my endorsement as a prudent investment in philanthropy. Big or small. Follow the link below for more information.
